About Us

Back Story

Kelly Hopewell, a widow at 32 and a mother of two... knows firsthand how an unexpected death can devastate a family.

She knows what it’s like to start your Friday like any other only to suddenly get, "That-phone call" and lose your soul mate forever.  To somehow find the courage to look into the face of your children and explain their father’s not coming home!  And now must worry about how she will support them and herself in the years to come. And it didn't have to happen, the whole thing was preventable. On the job decisions MATTER!

So, what happened?

Tommy Hopewell had been a lineman for 11 years when he was electrocuted on the job in 2015. He died three days later, at the age of 31. Tommy left behind Kelly, his wife of five years; a 2-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son; a father and a brother.

Safety on the job isn’t important just for workers in the field. Like Tommy Hopewell, each person has loved ones and coworkers counting on them to come home safely. In sharing her experience, Kelly Hopewell brings this message to employees who work in field and in hazardous occupations, her work is currently aimed at electric utility lineman. It’s her way of honoring Tommy, but also to sound the alarm the complacency, hazing and ego's commonly increase the risk and are the cause of poor safety decisions.

Kelly’s voice as a speaker or panelist can add a unique, heartfelt perspective to your employee-safety event. The story of her three-day tragedy and the weeks and months that follow are gripping, compelling and emotionally moving, her presentation touches the very deepest reasons why safety on the job is so important. Her message transcends all age groups and has been highly effective anecdote to companies looking to improve their programs around worker safety.

“My mission is to seek all opportunities to present my story in an attempt to change one mind and save one family from experiencing the loss and heartache I have experienced.

I highly recommend Kelly, she's easy to work with, creative and very reasonably priced.
